Hi all! I am getting a Kimber Eclipse target II 1911 next month and was wondering what modifications to do to it besides replace the kimber magazine with a wilson combat one thanks

Thats a sweet gun from the factory. lol. Buy a set of different stocks for it?

Maybe a magwell, or a new set of VZ grips, and don't forget a good holster. Not sure what sights come on it, but a night sights are a good addition

While you're replacing the Kimber mag with a Wilson mag, you might also want to replace the Kimber with a Wilson;-) That's the best MIMber upgrade.

Im going to vote for Chip mags. I just got 2 Wilson Crap-bat mags and they suck, not sure what all the hype is over. Most of the Wilson Combat parts I have used are of average quality and sometimes lower

Also I would replace the MSH with a magwell MSH, and will be ordering one for mine soon!

I use Wilson ETM magazines in almost all my 1911's and don't have any problems at all. Often magazine sensitivity is caused by an underlying problem with the pistol needing some tuning, often extractor tuning.

That said, there are a number of other excellent magazine brands so a lot of it is personal preference.

Besides a couple magazines, a good holster is always nice to have. I'm old-school so I use leather. I'd save the rest of my money for good ammo (I like PMC Bronze and RWS fmj for practice) and for a trigger job from a competent pistol-smith to make it your own.

Also, you may prefer slim grips/short trigger depending upon your hand size.

Congrats on your Eclipse Target II, and I hope yours is a good one. Keep it well lubed during break-in and cycle the slide of the unloaded pistol a lot (dont let it slam closed while unloaded) to cut down on ammo costs during the break-in.

Remember to lube the barrel where it contacts the bushing, slide and frame rails, bottom of slide where the disconnector and hammer ride and the top of the barrel in the front of the ejection port where the slide rubs the barrel during link-down.
