I would like to put a beretta 96 slide on my beretta92fs. Are the 96 and 92 frames the same? Does the frame need any modifications? Should I worry about reliability issues?

identical frames, no modification 100% the same functionality (unless it's a D frame, then it's DAO) or if you've got one of the compact frames, then it'll work the same, but with a gap.Originally posted by greasemonkey1911's instill fairy dust in the bullets, making them more deadly. -
The 96 frame has a wider feedramp area, to allow reliable feeding of the wider .40 cartridge, than the 92. Beretta used to offer a combo package of a frame with both 9m and .40 uppers...the frame was from a 96, so that it would reliably feed both...because the journey is the worthier part...The Shepherd's TaleComment
