    96 slide on a 92fs frame?

I would like to put a beretta 96 slide on my beretta92fs. Are the 96 and 92 frames the same? Does the frame need any modifications? Should I worry about reliability issues?

identical frames, no modification 100% the same functionality (unless it's a D frame, then it's DAO) or if you've got one of the compact frames, then it'll work the same, but with a gap.

The 96 frame has a wider feedramp area, to allow reliable feeding of the wider .40 cartridge, than the 92. Beretta used to offer a combo package of a frame with both 9m and .40 uppers...the frame was from a 96, so that it would reliably feed both

I have a 92FS and bought a 96G slide/barrel a few years ago when they were being sold.

The 96 slide on the 92 frame works with no issues. The 92 mags also work just fine for the .40 (changes a 15 rnd 9mm to an 11 round .40.)
