Question I was wondering about these events....When they have these things, do they HAVE to melt down every one? Someone brings in thier granddad's Colt 1911 he used in the Pacific, and they MELT IT DOWN FOR A RALPHS GIFT CARD !?!?? Or if someone brings in a newer Glock, M & P, Etc, can any of the cops running these things buy a gun they like for themselves?

All for a $100 or $200 gift card. What a waste.

I saw this on the news , the are supposed to run the s/n and return any firearms that were stolen . I have a 22 revolver that i would be ahead on if i turned it in at one of these , they just need to have it in the inland empire.

I know I'm gonna sound like a troll, but If someone wants to sell their property for a discount I don't see anything wrong with. To some groceries are more important than a firearm. Sure they could find a private seller but some wouldn't even know how to go about it. I know my grandma for example wouldn't, or go through the necessary means to find out. Plus peices like that sawed off revolvers should be melted lol.

Do people really think that those guns are the ones that criminals use to commit crimes? All those are crappy pistols anyway.

Would it be illegal to hold a sign up accross the street saying you'll pay more for the same guns?

er, is it even possible to melt zinc into manhole covers (or do they just install them in the real bad parts of town and utilize them as a form of pit trap...)?
