What do I need?

Hi all,
I just bought my first pistol, and am eagerly awaiting it's release from jail. I'm just wondering, what do I need in terms of maintenance stuff? Any recommended brands? It's for a 1911.
Also, are any of the shooting glasses out there particularly good, or can I just grab anything that fits?

go with any Oakleys are great for shooting

Cleaning kit, lube, extra magazines and a ton of ammo. That should just about do it.
My shooting glasses came from home depot. Cheapest ones they had.

make sure the glasses you get are fog free. if you get magazines make sure they're good quality, wilson combat makes good ones.

i would pick up hoppes #9 cleaning kit, and some ear protection too.
