Heads up on some S&W J frame .22's

Imbert & Smithers got in a bunch of stuff the other day on consignment. The most interesting of whats left are a couple of S&W model 63. Both are stainless 4" revolvers built on the small J frame.

One is .22 LR the other is .22 Mag with an extra cylinder to fire .22 LR

they are priced at $550 and $675 and are in great shape. If they were k frames I might buy one but they are just a little to cute for me.

Aren't those about $100.00 over even by our CA standards?

Thats what I said, sad thing is they will be probably snatched up in no time. They had 42 guns come in on Monday and half of them are gone already.

i would jump on these as they are perfect for my hand......but those two separately cost as much and in one case more than my NIB s&w 60 .357 i got at markley's in july! why?

Metal Injection Molding, some consider it inferior to forged or machined parts.

What range up on skyline are you talking about? Am I missing a range close to me by any chance? I live next to Bunker Hill off 280 for the past 25 years and dont know of a range on skyline.

                  thanks.

i'd like a j-frame .22 and think either of these would be a nicer gun than the s&w 317 i was considering some weeks back......and certainly nicer than the cheap [yes, cheap not inexpensive RG14 in my possession].

for that amount of $$ i can get a new .357 rifle....... actually, i've been bitten by the gunbug and want both.

skyline gun range is actually Los Altos Rod and Gun Club and the closest range...indoor or out... to Boulder Creek: http://www.losaltosrodandgunclub.com/

bit of a hike for you but pretty drive if you take 92 or 84 up to skyline....or page mill for that matter. stay on skyline past the highway 9 interesection and the sign will be a few miles on the right. nice outdoor range.

ps san carlos is certainly out of the way for me but if i'm out and about anyway its an excuse to go see the two guns.

Tabors has a 2" NIB model 36 (maybe a 37, didn't look that close) for $399.00. Box included. All the "Imbert has ..." posts got me to visit today and they had a 4" HB Model 10 Smith like new. What the hell, maybe it was the all the 308's bouncing off my forehead at the range but I bought it for $450.00. I guess it hadn't been on display for even 1/2 day.

I figure I'm never going to find a 58, might as well have the 3/4 scale version.

If you were looking for a 58 you missed out, they had one come through about 4 months ago, NIB (for real) and $850; sold like a hotcake

For real-world applications they're just fine. I'd bet my life on MIM parts coming from S&W.
