    Taurus 24/7 Pro

Im looking to break into the smaller caliber market, but cant really afford to put up the cash for a CZ75/G17 or XD9 and I was looking at the 24/7 Pro for its affordability. Does anyone have experiance with it?

It's looking like this or the Bersa Thunder 380.

I like how the gun feels in my hands. It's a good looking gun, but the Double Action Only Looonnnnggggg trigger pull absolutely sucks. Fine for a range gun, maybe, but as a HD handgun, I'd pass. Magazines are a bit pricey. Mine functions fine with no jams, etc. Price is right, but perhaps you might want to look into a Ruger P95 for the same price.

The pistol would also be used by the wife for HD, she has no problem shooting my XD45 she just doesnt like the recoil. Do you think the SR9 could be used easily by a female?

I had the 24/7 pro in .40...like mentioned above the trigger pull is ...HARD. When I first shot it I was looking for another safety...then just squeezed harder.

            Ruger or start looking used.

I know my Mother had issues racking the XD 9mm, but can handle my BHP and cz 75 fine.

Probably SR9 Compact is more suitable for female IMO...

Take into consideration that in a HD situtaion you may not even hear the blast let alone felt the long trigger pull. I have known LEOs that never heard their first shotgun blast as they chambered another round. The adrenalin can do strange things to a person. As for the trigger...practice.

I'm picking up a Bersa Thunder .380 DuoTone on the 10th or so(depends on when my day off is).

I actually wanted it though. If I really wanted to, I could have just gotten the M&P9c I've been wanting, but I really like the feel of the Bersa. I think I'll end up with a few before I get the M&P9c, but that's because I already own a M&P9 and a M&P9L.

I'd consider buying used. I'm sure you can find something better than the Taurus in the price range you're looking for. Good luck either way.
