    M9A1 nite sights

Well wanted to put nite sights on my beretta, shoulda done more research before I bought it... I got meprolight sights took it to my normal gun smith and he said he can only put the back ones on because the front one is integrated into the slide and nothing he can do...At first I thought he was just being punky and didn't want to do it because I bought the sights somewhere else until I went home and checked it out.... Yep it's one piece with the slide.... Anyone else out there went thru this experience..... Greatly appreciate it thanks

The way is send it to beretta or another shop that has the proper equipment to do it. Its no easy task and when LE's order the 92fs they order it already with NS from Beretta.

maybe they need "real" gun smithing? like to cut off the front post sight and knotch the front? or drill? idk its just an idea...

            the M9A1 / 92FS don't have front sight dovetails.

the 90-two, the Vertec, The Elites (I think), the new 92A1/96A1 do.

to get night sights, you send the slide off to trijicon or whomever, and you have the front sight drilled and a tritium lamp installed.

He wasn't lying. On the older ones the front sight was removable but the newer ones it's either staked or integrated with the slide (can't remember). You MAY be able to have it drilled out and have a tritium vial epoxy'd in there. The slide is not considered to be a firearm and can be shipped by any means. I'd contact Novak and see if their shop can do it then check with some gunsmiths. John Harrison may do it. He made some Glock sights for me (gold bead).

I had my gunsmith do it, he only charged me $35 The Meprolight sight is designed to be installed over the front sight.

Trijicon has a shop they recommend who drill the front sight and install a tritium vial. I think I remember it was Tooltech Gunsight, in Michigan or somewhere. They did a good job on my 98FS slide. I think it was $150 or something like that and it included the sights.

If you can return your Mepros, you can go this route.
