Sig P220 - Love it!

After having a P229 in .40 and SP2022 in 9mm, and having spent some time with a 226; I picked up a P220 Combat. What an awesome pistol! It feels so great in the hand and points so nicely. To my ability, I feel all of the P series pistols have the same trigger, but the 220 is the best frame and ergos that I have shot. Mine does have some awesome Hogue Piranha grips on it which really sets it apart as far as looks and feel are concerned.

Now, why doesn't Sig make other calibers in this form? Sure the 226 is similar, but they don't feel the same. I want a single stack, full size frame in 9mm (should be able to fit 10 rounds of nine). That would be perfect!

The factory mag capacity is 9rds, although I did hear there were 10rd Mec Gar(?) mags although very rare and near impossible to source. The 9mm is still being used but not in the US. There was also a .30 luger version in production also.

My first handgun was the P220, I've had it over 15 years. Through the years I purchased more handguns, 2 Sigs , a Glock and a Ruger. It is still my favorite one to take to the range. Reloading helps me shoot it more often .

the op is in great need of a P220 9mm. i own a w german P220 .45 ACP, and have a w german P220-E .45 ACP on layaway currently; but wouldn't mind having one in .30 luger....

P220 was available (still is in the free states) in 9mm Parabellum, 38 super, and if you can find one, 7.65mm Parabellum.

I only have P220s in 45 ACP. I would love to have a P220 9mm with American mag release. There's a guy on Sigforum who just bought a pair of P220s in 9mm with American mag release, unfired, consecutive serial number...

Only Sig I like is the P225, for some reason I get blisters on my thumb when I shoot the Sig 220. The controls specifically the slide release and de- cocker rubs on my thumb when I fire the weapon.

Well, saw this p220 9mm up for sale in the marketplace currently, if you haven’t been checking and still up for grabs… For the moment.

PW Arms Import and judging by the, serial number, which is relatively close to one of my p220 9mms by only a few hundred, probably from the same production batch so probably originally a .38 super converted to 9mm for US sales. Know only on other calgunner with same gn with only the serial number separating s by, I believe, double digits. Most of the American Version p220 9mm, from what I have seen, were conversions from .38 super and are superb pieces. Now, if any chance, the barrel has a matching serial number to the frame then that would be an even rarer specimen in a p220 that was manufactured as a 9mm an sold in the states rather than imported in as a .38 super and converted to 9mm for US sales… He was initially asking 1k when saw it in the really early am but now is down to $900. Not bad since was seeing these go for as much as $750- $800 in similar to like new condition along with original packaging and papers years ago. Hope this helps someone out…
