IMHO, depends on the pistol ( I am assuming its a pistol bc your in the HG thread). I have different opinions for 1911 magazines than I do Glock magazines. What pistol are you looking for magazines?

You should only run factory OEM mags in Glocks, and the savings is only a couple of dollars to go to a Scherer or KCI, not worth it, especially for a carry gun. If the aftermarket mags don't work, don't look to Glock to make it right.

1911, now thats a different story, several very high quality aftermarket mags to choose from. Personally Tripp Research Cobras, Wilson Combat, Chip McCormick are the most reliable but not cheap at about $40 each.

Don't have any experience with Bersa or Kahr

For the 1911, if you are only using FMJ ammo get a couple of these mags stainless blued. GI feed lips are awesome for ball ammo.

Thank you for the information. I looked into a company called promag.....they have some horrible reviews, but their prices seemed reasonable cheap. Any suggestions?

god awful. Stay away from promag. If your going aftermarket and not OEM, look towards MecGar ( not for 1911s though)

Can't speak for 1911's as I don't yet own one, but I shell out the $ for factory mags

+1 for Tripp Research Mags in 1911. If you're running a 9mm 1911 Mec-gar makes the OEM mags for Springfield, but they are only 9 rounders....Tripps are 10.
I've lose confidence in Wilson mags. Too many of our club members having problems with them. I used to run exclusively Wilson 8 round magazines, buut not any more. I do have some Chip Mccormick mags that work well too.

for the bersa, you can only get factory or promag. with the promag, you may have to modify the follower or feed lips to fit the pistol properly, and that's still not guaranteed to work. with factory mags, you avoid the headaches.

i think the same goes with glock magazines, stick with the manufacturer. 1911s depend on your budget. i've had some luck with metalform and triple k mags, but for hd i use only chip and wilson. haven't tried tripp mags yet but i've heard good things about them as well.

I use Glock brand mags for my glocks, I have a bunch of Kimber mags that I usually use for range training/mag dumps. I leave the pretty colt ones aside for resale (not that I want to but just incase). Wilson Mags with HD rounds.

                          Google Cal's Sporting Armory,
they may have what you want.
                          Good prices,if they're in stock.

I got Mecgars for my SIG. They used to come standard, but they switched to an American manufacturer recently.

For 1911, it's a Wilson 47D. A lot of reliability and feeding problems can be traced back to the magazine, so go for the best.
