    New Ruger SR1911 (1911 Gov't clone)?

The brand new Ruger SR1911 should be able to go right on the CA roster without having to create a "CA version" right?:

I think this might really be a world beater. A high quality 100% US made stainless 1911 Gov't with good sights for possibly less than $700.00 once the discounters take hold? Wow! I think Ruger is really going to put the hurt to Kimber and some others...

    Here's Hickok45 giving the SR1911 a little workout:

There is already a thread with Rugers explanation. It won't be released in CA and they have no intention on making one that will.

AFAIK it's not CA legal and won't be till they add a Mag disconnect and LCI. I sure would want one if it was on the roster though.

Where did you see Ruger say that they have no intention of making a CA compliant 1911 version?

Like the other thread stated. Not ca/ma compliant. There is a lci but no mag disconnect. You can still single shot exempt to own one.

            Aha! OK.

I would certainly look into one too. Ruger's performance/price is really going to change the 1911 market.

I wonder what the cost of that will be? A big part of the Ruger's appeal is what I am sure is a world beating price/performance ratio.

Hickok45 shows the LCI on his demonstration video.

sure the price point is one thing. why do you think people love rock island 1911? their 9mm platform
isn't on the roster and people are single shot exempting those as well.

The Ruger will not be CA compliant. So I'll play the devils advocate, some will say you can get it in via the single shot exemption. I ask why. Is there something special about this 1911 that would make it worthwhile to do that effort? There are plenty of 1911's that are currently on the roster that are probably the equal to this Ruger?

I suppose it depends on the person. For a hardcore 1911 collector I could see how they would definitely want one from a major manufacturer like Ruger. I suspect that if there was enough demand, Ruger WOULD manufacture a CA compliant model no matter what the naysayers say.

If the process is cheap enough it might make economic sense too because Ruger is sure to bring far more bang for the buck to the table than anyone else.
