    The G.I. is great - if you want a WWII reproduction. If you don't you are going to spend a lot of money on things like sights, grip safety, mainspring housing, ect.....

    I'm a Glock guy also (G17 and G19), but when I went for a 1911 I thought long and hard about what features I wanted. I realized that it was going to be much cheaper in the long run to shell out the extra $ up front and get a Loaded for $850.

      If you get the GI, just keep it stock. Upgrading on your own is gonna cost you way more than getting one already set up from the factory.

        ria tactical is a great 1911 with the basic upgrades and cost less than an sa gi most of the time.
