LaserMax Internal Laser for Glock 26

Hey guys, I have heard here and other places that the LaserMax Internal Laser for Glocks is no good. It makes the gun less reliable. I have also heard that recently LaserMax addressed this issue and it should work all right now. I find this to be the only practical laser to put on a subcompact/compact gun - otherwise it defeats the purpose. Any input? You guys always seem to have the latest news.

    Thanks,
    Tony

Edit: Have shot a Glock 19 with a LaserMax, 200 rounds (white box) - no jams - a few years ago. I was very satisfied with the brightness and everything else. I always view a laser on a gun as a secondary means of a sight.

I had one (LMS-1131P) for the compact glocks 38,19,23,32. Works great. NATO aproved. No reliability issues with the pistol and I put many rounds through it. I just sold the gun and laser though because I got layed off

I myself wouldn't install one in my glock as I bought it for reliability and don't want to mess with it...I guess I just don't want to take the chance

If there's a chance of it happening, it'll happen when you need it the most.

If your worried about life and death situations. A semi-auto pistol would be my last choice anyway. Wheel gun is the only way to go for CCW. Just my opinion though.

I used a Crimson Trace on my G17 before I sold it, it's a great laser and it's adjustable. You may want to consider it- and you can get one for a lot less than the lasermax.

not a fan of Crimson Trace, even though it is brighter, I keep my finger far from the trigger before firing - thus blocking the laser beam. I am not going to relearn how to shoot for a laser.

                      IMHO they're junk.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

What your reasoning? Have you seem them failed? I too also thought about this but waiting for all the opinions to come it.

What is the "supposed" reliability issue? That the springs fail, or the lasermax unit itself fails? I have had my lasermax in my Glock 27 (subcompact .40) for about 2 1/2 years, and have shot thousands of rounds through it. I have never had a failure which would have caused the glock not to fire. I do have some "issues" regarding the lasermax though. 1) the battery does not last that long, and I have constantly had to change them out, and the batteries are not cheap 2) at the range, since the laser is right below the barrel after two magazines, the gunpowder builds up and you can barel see the laser anymore until you wipe off the lense. finally 3) for some reason, I am more accurate with the lasermax turned OFF. The reason I bought the Lasermax was for some SHTF situation (like someone breaking into my house in the middle of the night) where I feared I may not have enough time to line someone up in my sights. For that situation, I think the Lasermax may be worth it. My problem, however, is when I line the laser on the bullseye, the bullet could go all over the place. I mean it will hit an 8 1/2 by 11" piece of paper, but I don't know exactly where the bullet will go. When I use my sights, it goes where I aim. Hope this helps.
Many thanks to the AK-Build team...California's version of Khyber pass.

The last ones I looked at didn't have any adjustment to sight in the pistol, changed the perceived recoil, and didn't survive. If you want lasers then Crimson Trace are the best. If they don't make them for your gun then buy another gun. I don't use lasers so I'm not saying this because have any vested interest.

Anyone have the spring on the Lasermax fail, thus making the glock inoperable???

Even if the laser itself fails, it's not that critical...still have sights.
