Speak of the devil I found one but its $450. Albeit in very nice condition just not sure it's worth it considering I can get a gp 100 for a little more.

$450 is a little high (IMHO). They are a great revolver, built like a tank. Highly recommended!

That's nice but I was looking at a security six which is .357 as opposed to the single six which is .22

I'd like to find a Speed Six myself, I don't like adjustable sights on my handguns. Both do show up, not frequently, but consistently in the Private Sales Forum, just keep a good look-out you'll find one eventually.

I sure hope I do. By the by do places that have guns on consignment take offers and pass them on to the owner? Or are they allowed to deal with you directly? Or am I just whistling dixie?

From my experience, when I put two of my guns on consignment years ago at Turners, the manager and I had a brief negotiation as to what the guns were to be sold for and what percentage I was to get. I then was issued a check for the negotiated percentage later after the guns were sold.

Basically, once I handed the guns over to the store it was a done deal. I'm not sure how other establishment do consignments though. This was a few years before I knew about Calguns and will never do it again, I feel that I really lost out and still feel a bit rapped

BTW, maybe you should really consider a GP100 or Sp101, they're not that much different functionally than their older counter parts and are always available used- I just sold a nice Sp101 with lots of extras not too long ago. If your lucky you might even come across a blued GP100.

Ive been keeping an eye out for a good deal but they go quickly here on calguns. I was talking to my local range about consignment guns and how they take offers.

Gotcha on that, the price is the best thing about them. Guess, we just have to wait and keep available cash or trades ready to go in case one comes along.

Maybe you can check a few other shops as well and try to have them call you in the chance that some one brings one in on consignment. I used to swing by my local Turners the day they put out their used guns out every week. I snagged a couple of really amazing deals that way.

If you're not totally stuck on 357, there are Smith Model 10s, they're far more available and range from old school to current production. Their actions tend to be much sweeter too.

You should really check Turners website everyday. Click on online gun rack then click on used guns. That will give you a updated list of what they have and where its at.

Your going to hate me for this, I just bought a 1977 Security Six 6" blue in good shape for $308 out the door. I can't dros it untill 5/15 and then 10 day wait sucks but what can you do. Also last mounth I picked up a Redhawk 7 1/2" blue mint condition for under $600 OTD at the same store. You just have to keep looking. Good luck, Redhemi
