How accurate are you?

Up to what distance would you say you can be accurate at with hitting a target or a body mass?

I can consistently hit a man sized target relatively center of mass at out to 25 yards. The grouping is generally for ****, but they are definite hits. Honestly, I have never tried anyting further out with a handgun.

I can consistently hit the 300m with a rifle though (again, the furthest distance I've tried)

I've never tried shooting a pistol beyond 25 yards. But at 25 yards I get most, if not all of my hits on a typical silhouette paper target, though I don't form a group. The shots are just scattered all over the target.

Depends upon how much time I have to make the shot, and how many shots I get. If I can take my own sweet time, I can consistently place rounds center-mass out to 100 yards or more. I may mess up the first couple as I get my hold-over right, but they''ll all hit from there on except for the occasional screw up.

There is nothing amazing or even above-average about this level of performance. Generally, I think it only makes sense to train with pistol out to 25 yards. My performance at that range is nothing spectacular either, but I can get the job done.

I can hit a silhouette target with my 1911 at 100 yards. Shooting in a realistic type scenario like in IDPA those 20+ yard targets are a bit more difficult to hit under stress and time, I usually always get good hits at 20+ yards in IDPA but it's no 2 inch group lol. I think in a real life scenario I would not want to take a shot past 30 yards because I don't know how confident I would be at that range in a real life situation (not like you would typically encounter 30 yards in a self defense situation anyways) .

No problem at 25 yards at the range, but under stress and following a quick draw? I don't think I'm there yet.

Right now I'm focusing on that at 7 & 10 yards, and I do fine at those distances. It is unlikely anyway that in a self defense situation I would have to deal with a 25-yard scenario.

I get about a 6" group at 25 yards (75 feet) with my 3" barrel, 9mm & I can do a quarter size cluster at 30 feet; I think that's decent for a newbie. Haven't really tried shooting my pistol past 25 yards as I would switch to my rifle at longer distances 'coz it's much more fun.

I've taken my .44mag out to 200 yards with a red dot and could hit the gong about 50% of the time with hot loads. Mild loads were really consistent even if I had to rainbow them out there in lob form

My .22lr MKIII Slab Side will do OK at 200 yards too. This is from a bench and rested as I can be with a pistol, so no ransom rest or anything like that. Thats just irons and a bag.

and i've hit the same sized steel at 300 yards with my AR

15 yrds with a handgun. After that it gets dicey....With a rifle it is out to 300 yrds confidently...Under that, I would say very likely my WASR will stop you in your tracks.

Same here. I can consistently hit a B27 silhouette target from 25yds and usually keep everything within the scoring zones, but my "groups" are certainly nothing to write home about.

Shooting at a stationary B-27 silhouette 50 feet away doesn't mean anything. Yeah you feel good about yourself when the target returns and you put ten 9 mm rounds into the COM.

Now try that again when the B-27 silhoutte is running, moving laterally, hiding. or even worse, shooting back at you with 9 mm bullets.

Let's see how good you are.

From the draw under the clock? or making a hunting shot? You should be able to make C hits at 50-75 yards in under 2 seconds by the clock. Further shots are not impossible, 200 yards with a hunting pistol like my TC contenter in .35Rem.
