Back sight to RIGHT or LEFT??????

On my Glock I have a Heinie 315 Slant Pro sight back sight. Since this sight is not adjustable I have to manually knock it to the right or left. Which way do I need go???? This target was shot from 20 yards away.

The rear sight should go where you want it to impact. So in your case, it should go right.

          From an Appleseed clinic:

Rear sight is your friend, front sight is your enemy. Friends do what you tell them to do; enemies do the opposite. Move the rear sight in the direction you want your group to move.

[The above rule is for adjusting sights... not aiming! The front sight is your friend when aiming!]

Or just do what I often do (for those too lazy to memorize rules)... make a rear sight using two fingers of one hand and a front sight with one finger on the other hand. Align the sights, adjust one of them left or right, and then watch which way your "muzzle" moves when you realign the sights.

Jebus, are all their rules that convoluted?

The old acronym for moving your group is FORS: Front Opposite, Rear Same.

              Remember this mnemonic:
"Front is funny, rear is regular." or
"Front is funny, rear is reasonable."

The rear sight adjusts in the direction you want to move the impact at the target.

The front sight moves in the OPPOSITE direction you want to move the impact at the target.

mike, did you shoot that target from a rest or free hand?

Calif Mini (member I'd) sells Delrin punches that I use for my AR lower...the thicker one is also great for knocking my glock rear sight. I can't talk myself into the price of an actual sight tool. My theory is that this is pretty typical adjustment for right eye dominant shooters who use an isosceles stance....but I'm not enough of an expert to claim that as fact. You do have to give it a good whack though...the bottom of my rear sight just barely hangs as a lip over the right side of the slide.
