    Glock 19 tac light problems

    Greetings all,

I went out to the range and shot my glock with the weapons light, which is a SF X300. I experienced "Failure to feed" on all three mags. The rangemaster at the range said that it's possibly the magazine springs. The rangemaster had a new Gen 4 Glock 17 mags to try and I experienced no malfunction with his magazines.

I've been using my google-fu and found information mostly on the Glock 22.
Has anyone experienced this problem with their 19? What mag springs did you buy and eliminated the issue? I was thinking about purchasing Wolff springs.

    Thanks all

i have a glock 19 gen 3, it was my first pistol and is my nightstand gun, i have over 7000 rounds through it over the past 6 years and i have had 1 jam which all i had to do was drop the mag rack the slide and the round came right out. i have 4 factory glock mags and never have had a problem with the springs, however i have read alot of post and articals bashing the glock 19 for jams misfires and "failure to feed" problems, i would just say to buy a couple new mags and go from there, also did you have mags loaded and sitting for a long period if so its a good idea to let the springs rest, just unload the mags once a week then reload them.

    good luck bro

Does it run ok without the weapon mounted light?

I didn't mention on my post that I have a Gen 3 Glock 19. HL51, yes, my 19 ran flawlessly with the magazine. Is yours a Gen 3 Glock 19? I examined my magazine this morning and checked my magazine spring and compared it to my recently purchased magazine. My observation was that the recent magazine had a much stiffer spring, when I pushed the tip of the mag follower down where you feed the bullet, the entire follower would go down w/o tilting. Also to mention, the follower had a either a #6 or 9 at the corner.

Next, I tested my magazines that came with my pistol. When I pushed down on the tip of the mag follower, the mag follower would tilt down first. The spring also felt kind of mushy. After checking the mag follower, I noticed that the mag had the 9mm3 on the mag follower.

I'm going to call Glock on Monday and see what I can do. I use this pistol on/off duty. I'll see if I can change out my oem spring and replace it with a Wolff +10% power spring. Hope this will eliminate the problem.

Sounds like you are already somewhat familiar with common glock issues with taclights. I have not heard of it happening with a G19, but I guess it makes sense with the right ammo/spring/light combination. Do you shoot a +P round? From your description it would make sense to replace the springs with something stiffer or maybe run newer mags.
