can a beginner clean a SA xd 9 ?

i have now shot 250 rounds through my SA xd9 and I want to clean it. I have never done anything like this but i'm not an idiot. so do you think i can disassemble the gun and clean it without breaking anything ?

XD and glocks are the easiest to take apart of the handguns i have owned. For a beginner i would watch a video on youtube. i have had mine and year and put 2000 rounds threw it only cleaning it once, lubing it as needed with no problems. here is a quick break down i can write up
make sure gun in unloaded
rack slide back and lock open. remove mag
flip square lock on front left side of gun up 90 degree
pull trigger and pull slip forward
take recoil spring assembly out of bottom of slide
pull barrel out

this is about as far as you would need to take down to clean

to put back together
install barrel in slide all the way back till it locks up
install recoil sring front slides in first
slip slide back onto frame rails and lock open
flip down lock on left side
depress slide lock and all done

nikon eh? If you can adjust for exposure you can field strip your gun.

Agree, add USP to that list. They literally break down into like 5 main pieces.

Make sure its empty. You have to pull the trigger to complete the disassemble.

I wouldnt clean it, and just sell the gun to me and ill clean it.

i just checked my manual and it says NOTHING about pullin trigger
