    Ammo max per household?

I hope this the correct area to post this. I haven't found anything on this yet, so I have to ask: Does anybody know the maximum number of allowable rounds of ammunition per person per household in CA? Thanks in advance!

No such thing. Is there a maximum amount of toilet paper one can store in their home?

If someone is saying that there is a limit, please educate him with facts.

There are several posts about "How many rounds do you have" threads..people have anywhere from 100 to 100,000 rounds. Welcome to Calguns.

There is no limit on the number of rounds of ammunition one person can own in CA. If there was, some people here would be in big trouble.

PS, I think a better place to ask would be in the 2nd Amendment forum.

Yes, the limit in California is:

          1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000

Please let us know when you reach the limit (and tell us where you live!!).

Cash flow or credit card limit are the only limiting factor, or your space.

This (and funds) are the only limits.

Besides that there is no limit for the amount of ammunition you possess, there are some stores like WalMart that limit how many boxes of ammunition you can buy from them. Of course, there are plenty of other stores, local or online, that'll let you order however much you want. You just need the money.

The maximum number of rounds you can have in your house is determined by two factors.

                  1. The size of your house.
                  2. The stregnth of your foundation.

Apart from that, there IS no limit. Just hope you don't have a fire the FD will let your house burn down when they start hearing rounds cooking off.

                          No such law........ Yet

Stay tuned. In other countries such laws exist, unfortunately.

Not the OP's question but I'll toss this out there. CA does have restrictions on powder and primers though.

Excerpt from the California Fire Code:

3306.4.1 Black powder and smokeless propellants. Propellants for personal use in quantities not exceeding 20 pounds (9 kg) of black powder or 20 pounds (9 kg) of smokeless powder shall be stored in original containers in occupancies limited to Group R-3. Smokeless powder in quantities exceeding 20 pounds (9 kg) but not exceeding 50 pounds (23 kg) kept in a wooden box or cabinet having walls of at least 1 inch (25 mm) nominal thickness shall be allowed to be stored in occupancies limited to Group R-3. Quantities exceeding these amounts shall not be stored in any Group R occupancy.

3306.4.2 Small arms primers. No more than 10,000 small arms primers shall be stored in occupancies limited to Group R-3.

Wonder if some CA prosecutor could convince a judge that one violated this code by removing all of the powder and primers from assembled ammunition?

With all the materials being scarce, I think it should be pounds not rounds. That being said, I olny have >500 lbs.
