    Open Carry Laws???

Can someone please explain to me what the Open Carry Laws of California are? I am new to Californian and would love to exercise my 2nd Amendment Rights. Thanks!

Sorry Sergeant, we barely have any 2A rights around here.

Uhhh there's a lot of information in the 2A area. Basically, if you live anywhere near civilization, it's going to be difficult at best... and where you can open carry it has to be unloaded.

The very shortest answer is unloaded, open carry (UOC) is legal - because it doesn't violate either the loaded-in-public law or the concealed weapon without CCW law.

It's severely restricted by the Gun Free School Zones, where it is illegal to carry handguns outside a locked container.

There is a bill in the Legislature this session to ban UOC.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
