Jim Hoag - a pioneer in 1911s (used to run with Cooper, Weaver, and the early IPSC gang in Big Bear and worked at Kings - invented the beavertail, etc. etc.)

He is an amazing man and still does amazing work. Dave also does great work, but Hoag is an original. Plus his prices are VERY reasonable.

James, your website says you're only taking minor work. Is this correct?

Yes, that is correct. I am only taking minor work right now. Major work is almost up to 3 months. Basic Package, Tactical Package, Custom build 1911 pistols and machine work.

Thanks for the tips guys. I think I need a major refinish, a little rust damage. I was thinking about Hoag but wasn't sure if he was still in business. Considering I am in Covina too I might have to give Daves a call and see what he can do.
