PPT Questions

I've already been through a PPT transfer between 2 California residents so I'm familiar with how that process works, but a cousin of mine is interested in purchasing a Beretta PX4 Storm from a friend of his here in San Diego.

His friend lives in San Diego, but purchased the gun in Georgia and never registered it when he moved here. I'm not sure what sort of paperwork he has, if any, on the gun but they've been turned down at a couple places around town trying to do the PPT.

His friend does not have a CA driver license and to make it even more fun, is moving to Texas in a couple of weeks.

I'm not holding out much hope, but is there any way to make this happen?

If the friend can't prove that he is a Ca resident, a PPT is out of the question. Even if both of them go to a FFL to do the transfer (No one cares if the friend registered it in CA or not, It will get into the system during the transfer prossess.), the FFL can charge what ever amount they want to. It's going to be no different than having a gun shipped to them.

yeah, that's what I was thinking. The friend will have to ship the gun to the FFL oh his choice and complete the transfer that way.
