Officers size 1911 in 10mm or conversion ??

is there such a thing as a 10mm conversion for an officers model 1911? Does anyone still make a 10mm conversion for standard size 1911s?

    Thanks!

The 10mm is a very snappy cartridge when fired out of a full-size pistol---the "Officers" grip is even shorter---I don't know if this is a good idea. But if you want one, I am sure someone will be willing to make one.

Seems like Kimber or SA had a Commander sized 10mm...also STI?

      Glock 29?

I've thought about the Block 29, but I'm a diehard 1911 guy. I've owned quite a few pistols over the years but the only ones I've never sold (or thought about selling) are my 1911s.

Wanted a 1911 10 mm...everybody wanted too much.....settled for a g20....i think if youll be shooting real full power loads youll need a fullsize frame and barrel....still want a colt delta though....or cz damascus...

I've had a couple compact pistols in .40S&W and found them too "sharp" in the recoil and tough to shoot accurately. It's been my experience that 10mm is a little smoother. That, and I like "different" which the 10mm definately is.

I wanted a Delta Elite too, until a close friend of mine got one years ago. He was pretty disappointed in it and so was I. I know that's heressey, but it was a real bummer.

A short officer length slide and a long cartridge like the 10mm would make for an unreliable 1911. That's probably why you don't see 10mm officer sized 1911s.

I didn't see any 10mm 1911s on the CA roster.

I don't think I've ever seen or heard of a 10mm 1911 shorter than Commander length...and that one had a compensator on the end of it's barrel.

I would think the reduced mass and resultant increased slide velocity would make feeding problematic

Well, that explains why I never see short 10mm 1911s.

As far as the BS roster goes: That's why I'm looking for a conversion. Are there any still in production??

I'm not sure about current production. Most 10mm I've seen are custom jobs. If you have a spare 1911 frame you can probably have a good pistol smith build one for you. Just simply swapping slide assemblies and mags won't do. The frame mounted ejectors are different. BTW, never install an extended 10mm ejector.

I know Wilson won't make one in anything shorter than a government length and in steel. Great gun!
