Looked like it was bran new. should have it out to play with on the 14th. I already ordered some night sights for it, and im waiting till the gun show this month to get some mags. What do you guys have to say about these? How is the trigger on them? I only had one squeeze before I put back into the box so I cant remember much how the trigger was. Is there any trigger job DIY guides? I always like to do trigger jobs on guns (kinda like a glock, just polishing the trigger bar and parts with wear) cause its always better then the factory fell.

where can I find some mags for this bad boy at a decent price? ive never had to pay more than $30 for a magazine before, now im starting to worry when all I can find is the $45+ ones.

H&K Mags are expensive, watch the sales, look for used ones.

You can lighten the trigger (both DA and SA) with a lighter hammer spring.

Try the 10lb first and if you start getting light strikes, switch to the 12lb. All my H&K's work fine with the light springs and the trigger is improved greatly (at least for my taste).

I have done gone to lighter springs on my glocks, but did run into light strikes. so I tend to stay away from messing with the internals in the slide now. ill try it out tho and see how it runs. but my last glock was getting 2 or 3 miss fires because of light strikes. how many, if any light strikes have u got with the 10 pound springs?

I switched my spring out for the 10 pound one (I think, pm me and I will double check) and I ran a match with it and didnt have any problems. So the mags arent cheap like glock mags just buy 1 every couple of months or wait for deal. $55 list and sometimes they pop up for $35 used. I have collected mine over the years.

Buy the mags in bulk, but they are pricey no matter what. Down the line you can always send it to GGI for a trigger job.

Congrats on the purchase. Treat it with respect and you'll have a gun that will last many tens of thousands of rounds.

Of the 10 or so mags I bought for my USPf .45, all were HK brand and none cost more than $25 new at a Crossroads gun show. If no luck there, you might even check with CDNN but those are $50 each. I've changed out the mag springs to +10% Wulff mag springs.

I had HK change the DA/SA trigger to a light LEM trigger and remove the manual safety. My trigger pull is about 4.5#, very crisp and predictable. No other trigger work is warranted for my tastes. I had it back within 10 days of when I shipped it.

triggers on stock hk's are good but you can slip in a match trigger for a sweet ride! Hk mags are gonna be in the $50-$55 bucks a pop but they are worth it. the amount of money i have thrown in to hk mags could easily buy a few guns!

I'm luke-warm about their DA/SA triggers. Feels kind of "mushy" but I think its cause I've shot Sigs before I even touched an H&K and I think Sigs make some of the best DA/SA triggers out there. I've heard great things about H&K LEM triggers though and would love to test one out.

I owned a USP 40 and what helped me immensely was getting Hogue Handalls on it. Then again, my hands are closer to large side - so the added width of the Handalls on top of the already girthy USP grips did not bug me at all.

Congrats on the purchase, no handgun looks "professionally meaner" than a USP.

Cdnninvestments has good sales on the mags sometimes. Bill Springfield does work on them and is cheaper than Bruce gray but Bruce coats themparts. Lots of good info at hkpro regarding what spring rates guys use and their reliability with each. I'd just post it here but using my iPhone.
