    Say hello to Anna!!!

    UPDATE!!!

I have decided to fully upgrade my franken CZ to the Australian Shadow Specs. So in light of that I will dub thee Anna in honor of Anna Torv.
    New pics have been posted.

Trying to find the perfect gun for IDPA competition is no easy task. After trying out many of the popular guns available, I settled on a CZ 75. There were many barriers, mostly due to the So Called Safety Gun Roster. So like any good Calgunner, I was determined to not let that bother me. So after a lengthy process, I have finally ended up with this:

    Old Pics

and the rest of my 9mm Gang.

I know the standard SP01 is too heavy for IDPA, but with some changes is can be lighted enough. If shooterdude is correct, what is the advantage of doing that? I also thought that the CZ usually competed in da/sa, though I know it must be nice in sa.

A regular SPO1 Shadow must meet all of the requirements of the Stock Service Pistol Class due to the Extended dust cover. In order to due so, it basically has to loose 3 ounces and it has to be a SA/DA since Singe Action Only is not legal in SSP. You also need to retain all safeties, especially the Firing Pin Block. With a Shadow, you don't have to worry about that since there was no Firing Pin Block ever installed. This allows you to install a Single Action Only Trigger have a ridiculously light and extremely short trigger pull that easily meets or exceeds a custom tuned 70 Series 1911.

If I wanted to play in SSP, I just need to install a SA/DA Trigger, a disconnector, and the thinner Aluminum grips.

I still don't get it. This is not a stock service pistol, this is a composite of 2 guns. Maybe there is something in the rules that allow this?

CZ huh? When all else fails, might as well go with the World's Champion! Nice, very nice!

It would be if I put a SA/DA trigger and a disconnector.

Besides, regular CZ 75 B's don't have the upswept beavertail and ambi safeties. .

The SA has the upswept beavertail, not sure about the ambi. I would not mind having one.

All makes sense to me. I would like to eventually do some IDPA matches with my SP01, but I am a long ways from being competitive so I am not planning on making drastic moves. Nice job, and have fun.

                        That extended safety is huge!
Rock On with ball of thumb, right?

That must be very, very functional.... but does it get in the way?.. or get cought on stuff?
