Before I call Smith and Wesson and address an issue to them regarding my brand new full size M&P40, thought I'd get some insight and/or advice from you fine people of Calguns.
I just purchased a brand new M&P40 it does have a mag disconnect safety. First of all, it shoots fine and so far seems reliable (only put 100 rds through it)
the only issue I have with it is when I fire the last round in the magazine, the slide locks back and when I 'quickly' insert a fresh magazine fully loaded with 10 rounds the slide goes into battery on it's own, I guess this would be useful if I were in a hurry and taking fire
but I don't think this is normal nor is this suposed to happen.
It doesn't do it when I slowly put in the magazine or when the magazine isn't fully loaded. I've considered contacting Smith and Wesson, but I really don't want to wait months to get my gun back.
Also, what type of aiming system does this pistol uses? 6 o'clock? or do you cover the target with the front sight dot with a proper sight picture?
Thanks!
