    Glock trigger job and dremmel

I did a thread a while back here: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=382391 regarding a painful trigger slap. Got various responses that seemed to boil down to moving my trigger finger higher up as maybe it was hitting the trigger guard when shooting at the range. Noticed that this helped a little but ultimately did not solve the problem. The trigger hurts me and others who have tried my gun- Glock 17 9mm. I decided to do the trigger job as explained on Youtube called a "25 cent trigger job". There are lots of video instructions there, but it essentially involves polishing the internal trigger components- connector, plunger connected to the extractor, and a couple other parts as explained in these videos. Well, it was successful and it completely fixed the problem. Trigger is smooth as butter (as much as can be for a Glock) and I now know how to completely disassemble my Glock. Anyone had this experience?

BTT- wow these posts get to the bottom quick. Just if anyone else has done this trigger mod and had good results?

I've been wanting to try this. Thanks for posting your results.

Thanks for replying. It took about 3 hours watching the videos, getting all my tools, cleanup, etc. I love how all the youtube videos always say stuff, like "this will take 30 minutes" or something.

I love DIY jobs, it's even better when it's something that helps dial the firearm in just for the shooter.......

I do this with all my glocks.. add the 3.5# connector by LWD or Glock and it's even nicer..

I like it as it only polishes the parts and isn't modifying the angles.. No loss of reliability..

I've even gone so far as to polish the striker as well.. For my competition gun I use lightened springs so I wanted to increase the reliability of the ignition as much as possible while still achieving a lightened trigger..

I polished all my trigger parts as well with a dremel. Worked great and I was pleased with the results. Just feels like a nicely worn in trigger to me. I also threw a factory polished 3.5# connector in my newest G19 as well. I certainly wouldn't want the trigger any lighter than it is now. I also put a smooth trigger on it, I don't like the ones with the groves on them.

i did the .25 cent trigger polish job on my G23 as well as install the 3.5 connector. the results were pretty impressive. the pull was much smoother and a bit lighter. and i love the fact that i can now completely field strip my G23 with confidence. plus i love tinkering and modifying my own guns, especially when i get noticeable results.

Thanks for all the reply's. I have heard people say you shouldn't install too light a trigger for a HD weapon. However, I don't really like how gritty the Glock triggers feel so may just buy the disconnector and spring to try out, as I have other firearms for HD anyway- like the G 21!
