    Handgun Safety Certificate

I'm such a moron. I totally forgot that you had to get a HSC before buying a handgun. I haven't bought a handgun in a decade, so it didn't even cross my mind. I had to go to another gun store to take the test, no studying... perfect score. Though if you couldn't pass that Mr Obvious test, there's something wrong with you.

Anyway, just a friendly reminder. Oh, and bring a second form of ID when you buy/pick up your gun.

What was your score out of 30?

Generally, people who do not speak English as a primary language are most likely to fail the test. It is a very remedial/common sense test.

I have never taken the test, so I wouldn't know the score.

glad i don't need to worry about that for the next 4 years. The thing i hate most is trying to remember to bring it! Not worried now since i'll have my CCW on me 24/7.

I know i've said it before, but it's worth saying again.....once the bigger fish have been fried, it'll be nice to see CGF/NRA tackle the HSC. Taking a test and paying money to be able to exercise a fundamental right is something SCOTUS has smacked down in the past. I kinda wonder why this little guy hasn't been challenged already just so we have more ammo in our pocket.....but if CGF/NRA thinks it needs to wait, i'll believe them.

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

I bought my first handgun this week, I read the handbook once and I got 30 out of 30.
The test is a joke to make sure that idiots don't get to guns.

              I got 30 out of 30

It was funny because I was at a Gun shop waiting to see if they could locate a Glock 21 for me and there was someone there taking the HSC test. He missed 10 out of 30...

I was like dang that sucks.... Let me give the test a try (Just got my GSSF "Glock Sport Shooting Membership") to get the discount on the Glock, and the guy said I'm sure you'll do fine your a GSSF member, LOL.

I imagine I could manage a perfect score. But instead I shall do a little dance because I'm on the exempt list

From what I hear, it is a feel good measure of the worst kind- a completely and totally worthless retarded and unconstitutional one, rather than just a retarded and unconstitutional one.

For the uneducated masses and politicians who hear the word "safety" and don't have any idea what it actually entails, or the absurdity of it.
