Llama Comanche III, S&W Clone?

I am trying to find wood grips for my Llama Comanche III in .357. Either factory or aftermarket, but I am having zero success.

Does anyone know of a source? The gun has been out of production for some time and I am starting to lose hope.

Wikipedia says that these Llamas are S&W clones. If I can find the coorisponding S&W frame size, I wonder if the grips would be the same???

Wow, aren't you a helpful one? Did you even read to OPs post?

To the op- why not take it to a shop that carries S&W aftermarket grips and see if any fit? Or even contact a grip maker and see if their S&W replacement grips have been used on your gun before?

Sorry, not much help, just an idea.

If I remember right that gun has a "post", not a grip frame like a smith. Anyway I know Smith grips don't interchange. Maybe Gunparts ( Numrich) yea, I know the spelling is wrong. Just google Llama comanche parts and see if anything comes up

Two excellent sources hang out in the Gunboards Spanish Pistol forum.

LarryH lives in Texas and has a stockpile of used Lllama parts at reasonable prices.
STAR lives in Zaragoza Spain and has a full stock of NOS and repro Star pistol parts, plus parts for llamas and Astras. He ships quick and cheap, takes electronic payment

Both of these are nice people, enthusiasts who like to keep these old guns running. They are also generous with technical help.


Just go to gunbords.com and scroll down about 3/4 of the way, just under the CTME group is the spanish handgun forum. See if those two guys can help you out.

Do you make it a habit of going around bad mouthing other people's firearms? Tell you what, next time you are at SLOSA, we will set up some targets @ 100 yards. You bring your choice of open sighted .357 mag revolver and I will bring my Comanche III. Whoever has the best score out of 100 rounds wins.

Smith mod 29 like Comanche

I realize this is a very old post, but I ran across it trying to find info about my Llama Comanche. I found this Youtube video on a Smith model 29 that looks identical inside to my Comanche 357 magnum. This 29 is a 44 but the guts are the same.

And choprzrul I was just at SLOSA last weekend and I don't think I can even see the 100 yard target let alone hit it!!! Well done.
