    Colt 1991 ambi-safety question

I know someone who wants to sell a Colt 1991 pistol for a good price and I'm in the process of negotiating a deal with him. I've never owned a 1911 type pistol before and this looks like a low cost way to get in. Problem is I'm left handed and this 1991 has the standard O.E. safety for a right handed shooter.
My question is can anyone give me a rough idea of how much it would cost to have a gunsmith install an ambidextrous safety on this Colt? Less than $100? Less than $200? I know these guns get expensive when you start tinkering with them and I just want to know what I'm getting myself into.
Also, any good gunsmiths in the Alameda county area who could do this job for a fair price? I'll probably check with Tabor's in San Bruno since its close to my job unless someone has a better idea. Thanks!

Here is a link to the guy I go to in Marina with his price list so you can get a rough idea of what you would pay. It's a little far and I am sure there is a good gunsmith close to you but the prices should be fairly similar.

My nightstand gun is a Colt M1991 and I am left handed. I ordered an ambi-safety from MidwayUSA for around $25 and installed it myself. There are web sites that run you through the installation process with lots of photos. You just have to go very slowly with the filing and test fitting. I'm not very mechanically inclined and was going to have a gunsmith install it. But there are so many horror stories posted here about gunsmiths screwing up guns or holding onto them for six months. I figured what I lacked in skill would be made up for by the fact that I actually cared about doing a good job.

So Delvallgunsmithing.com in Marina charges $50+parts so I'd guess somewhere between that and maybe $100 in the bay area. Not to bad, about what I'd figure. I might even try to do it myself as Mssr. Elegante` did. I'll start reading up on this modification.
Almost got this fish realed in! Thanks for the advise.
