Trying to find parts to make a Samurai Edge Beretta

As we all know, kendo gunshop is no more.

the one I am trying to make looks like I need to go with a Beretta Elite.

does anyone know anyone that makes the grips? or anyone that can make custom grips?

also Im trying to find someone that can do the engraving on the slide...
is the elite on the roster?

    thanks

you either know what im talking about or you dont. its a true nerd thing.

        found this

Also: The Elite 1a has a vertec grip and the II has a stainless slide.

What you want is NOT rostered. It's the Elite (with no special designations after it). It's the one that the guns are actually based off of, with a stainless barrel and everything. I happen to own one (in a 96) , and I'm not parting with it lol, I love the damn thing. I got mine for a steal, but I usualy see them in varrying conditions at 750 or more.

As far as the custom grips.... good luck. You'll probably have to special order them from a guy who makes custom wood grips along with custom medalions for the inlay. I don't know of any grip makers who'll do a synth/wood combo like that, especially with the oversize design that extends below to cover the lanyard strap and makes the mag bottom flush with the grips.

With the grips, if you DO have someone make them, i'd use the elite magazines (large rubber pad on the bottom) and ask the maker to have the grips curve nicely to the mag so it's a nice continuous line. and a little bit of a mag well flare in the grips for easier loading.

im surprised someone on calguns already had the idea, I figure I will have to go custom grips from the ground up prettymuch due to the oversize grip. I would be alright with the wood being a plastic kinda like bakelite. maybe the airsoft grips would fit?

the roster shouldnt be toomuch of a problem, because all of the samurai edges were a little bit different, Weskers has a rail and skeletalized hammer for example so that would give me a little more room to work with.

          thanks

Ya, the Elite model hasn't been made for awhile. You need to find one PTP (I was lucky enough that one found me!) as they can't be shipped in.

Note: the air-crap grips don't attach like proper grips and wouldn't work on the gun (from what i've read at least) apparently they attach by a clip on near the bottom and aren't properly screwed in. You might be able to convert them, but it'll look and feel wrong.

Elite already has skeletonized hammer. See voiceoftheright's pic above (also Voice, what you mean is PPT, not PTP)

As far as the rail goes, the only elite with a rail is the 1a, and it's got a vertec grip (they chopped off almost the entire backstrap).

As far as buying one goes: Keep your eyes glued to gunbroker and calguns for sale. They crop up from time to time. I found mine on gunbroker, and the seller was only about 40-50 miles from me here in CA. I drove down, set up the PPT at a pawnshop, and went home. 10 days later I came back and went shooting a short ways away from where we did the transfer. I've loved it ever since. I'm still getting myself in tune with it.

thanks, ill keep an eye out on GB an CG, rail dosent matter dont really want it by sacrificing the whole backstrap. might take a month might take a couple years, but its going to happen

I have been tackling this project for a few months now and I am almost finished.

Just got mine back from the engravers. The STARS logo isnt exact but it was the best he could do. All I need are the grips. I have spoke to a few people about them and found someone that said he could do it. I went ahead and purchased the Airsoft version of the gun so he could have a 3D rendering of the grips. I recommend you do the same. Ill post some pics next weeks of the slide.

BTW. I started with an Elite 1A. Ditched the 4.7 barrel for a 4.9 and got the standard hammer. Its the easiest way to go.

                            Good luck with yours!

What did he quote you for the grips?

Also, will they be plastic/wood or colored polymer? Or will they be like the hogue with dense rubber and wood (my fave option)?
