    Beretta PX4

Has anyone had any problems with the top of the feed ramp wearing out? I don't own one, but looking into getting it. I seen a couple of pictures of this happening.

Haven't had a problem with mine. My round count is a bit past 1,000. I'll have to check and see if the warranty covers that. I'd imagine they'd fix it.

No, and with well over 3k rounds through mine I think I have some say on this topic.

I can post a more distinct picture later if you'd like. This is just what I happened to have on my photobucket.

About 1200 rounds on mine and no similar issue as in the picture.

One thought. I haven't put more than 100 HPs through my PX4. I suppose it is possible that HPs or SWC rounds could cause this kind of damage, but I doubt it.

the frame can only wear so far before it reaches the steel insert there.

in the rotating PX4, the magazine inserts the round almost right to chamber height, so the feed ramp isn't doing much work.

I've never seen or read about any reports of the wear on the pistol exceeding the picture you posted, which is about where most people say it eventually gets to.

Totally agree: Beretta engineers claim that on the PX4 storm that they have seen pistols with over 150k rounds without feed ramp issues. They also claim that the feed ramp isn't even necessary on the gun. See link below..

Hmmm... As you can see in my pictures there is clearly copper on the feed ramp. Where is the copper fouling coming from if the bullets don't touch the feed ramp?

Rekrab, want to take a photo of a loaded mag inserted with the slide locked back, to show how high the cartridge is fed?

I'd be curious, I've never looked at that, and the PX4SC on my desk is tilting barrel and doesn't have the polymer feed ramp in the frame, so isn't germaine.

Mine looks almost new ~ 2,500 rounds. Maybe the owner of the one depicted was a little to zealous while cleaning it and wore it down?

So I forgot all about taking a picture and I'm now about to retire for the night. But! I just took a quick look at my PX4 and I'll be damned if the top round isn't seated a good 5-6mm above the feedramp, in perfect line with the barrel. I never noticed that before!

Still, it makes me wonder WHY my feedramp is worn at all. Further investigation will be required.
