    DW revolver current value

I wanted to know what is the value of:

    Dan Wesson Arms
    Model 15
8" barrel marked (357 Magnum CTG)
Manufactured in Monson, MA (not sure the year) S/N# 177xxx

I've been looking around for a while... and the prices vary a lot.... all the way from $1500 down to $450, not sure what is taken into account when getting value from them. I don't have box or papers, and only one 8" barrel...

    Thanks!

*****I guess I will be buying replacement barrel assemblies over time... for those who are in the same boat as me (only have one barrel). I emailed Dan Wesson and Priscilla emailed me back with the current 4/2011 prices

*4-6 weeks to process the orders for them.

    VH barrel and shroud assemblies

    2.5" $190.00
    4" $257.00
    6" $304.00
    8" $374.00
    10" $433.00

if you only have one barrel then it is the lower value, a full set with 5 barrels and all tools (gage, allen for changing out) and fited case can run upwards of $2000.00 or more depending on condition of course.
I have one with a 6" barrel and was offered 475.00 a few months ago.

With one barrel it's in the range of $500.

yes, with 1 barrel it's in the price range of $400-$600.

There was one with a whole set (4 barrels) and it was sold around $1,500 if my memory serves me right.

Monson, MA DWs are known as the "good" DWs. The 8" vented (but not heavy) barrel is I think the best shooter. Long sight radius, nice balance and not too heavy. In CA these get more $$$ than outside CA. In most states I think you're looking at about $350.00 for a single barrel, in CA a bit more. If a DW fan sees one in CA for $450.00 I'd say they'll buy it.

Good example of the impact of "the list" is this - I saw a DW at the old CCC for $550.00 and the same version/condition at TargetMasters for $275.00. Only difference was the CCC was a consignment available to us mere mortals, the TM was an LE only. The CCC one sat for about a year at that price.

I sold one of my DW pistol pacs (with case and all parts still in brown wrapping, all assessories) for about $1,200.00 a few years back, it sold in about 15 minutes so I probably should have asked for more.

the markings on the gun itself say:

            Dan Wesson Arms
            Monson, MASS
            177XXX (serial number)

            Barrel Marking
            357 Magnum CTG

it's not listed on the roster now.... 6 shot cylinder. What is CCC and TM?

            Thanks

I paid $300 last January for this one. 1979 vintage with just the 4" barrel. Shoots nice but the previous owner left a carbon ring in it I'm STILL working on. I'll probly just go ahead & shoot .38 in it anyway. As I understand it they're kinda like the K frame Smiths & don't really like a steady diet of Big Dog magnums.

for comparison, there was a DW revolver with 4 barrels in .22LR on consignment at one of the turners for $1,500. It was gone within a week.

.22 revolvers have been smokin' hot since the Great Ammo Drought.

I can't believe Ruger hasn't made a .22 version of their polymer frame revolver.
They hung rails top & bottom on their 22/45 though... :barf:

                      S&W has a 10 shot (I think) stainless for about $800-$900.

                      Threadjack over. carry on.

There was just a 357 pistol pack in the nice case sold locally for $850.

Someone in So Cal was posting a DW 357 in the market place last week \ this week for below $400 after starting higher and dropping his price. I look at them on Gun Broker and they seem to run about the same for single barrel. Its not just the barrels you'd have to add but the package including the barrel assembly tool kit and a case to have a true pistol pack. I think that is why you see such a range - $350 to $2,000. The lower for individual pistols with one barrel and particulary if they are not the older one's. The higher for older one's NIB, great shape, etc etc with a full pack.

I have a 22 pistol pack, 4 barrels, but the smallest one says 38 sp on the shroud so I'm lookign for a 2 inch shroud that says 22 or nothing on it. Quality control I guess was lacking - it came that way.

I know a couple of weeks ago a LGS had a Stainless Pistol Pack with four barrels. $900. It went in less than a day.

I paid 850 for my pistol pack last year. I know I got a really good deal on it.
