    1911 For 22 conversion

If I was intent on a Marvel 22 conversion or kimber 22 conversion for a model 1911 for recreational use ( not competitive training or LE training) which 1911 would you recommend. I do not own a 45 and really was intent on a 9mm because I have several 9mm pistols now and the ammunition that goes with them. But there does not seem to be many 9mm 1911's available and sellers are getting a premium due to roster constraints.

Would like adjustable sights, dependable, and of course a budget conscious 1911 that will work well with the conversion kit.

    Which one?

I've owned both. And I really enjoy the Kimber... still own it. I use it on my Gold Match II. Neither are last round hold open but the aesthetics of the Kimber kit are better imo... appearance, same sights. I put a Dawson sight up front. And easier to put on, no tools required- easier to clean.

Thanks' John. That is a Kimiber Gold Match II and Kimber conversion kit? I wonder how well the Kimber kit would work with others. I have to admit I wasn't that fond of Kimber, but I've read both good and bad.

Yes, it's a Gold Match II. I haven't had a single problem with it after the typical 300-500 round break-in. Everyone's got their opinions, try one for yourself; if you're local, shoot mine.
