Use the term "open carry" or "oc" for your search. And welcome to Cal Guns.

The Californiaopencarry.org people have published an annotated summary of California laws on this subject. It is excellent. There are a lot of twists and turns to California law on this subject. Among other things, you can open carry out in the boonies unless it is somewhere that such is specifically prohibited. That is about it.

I may be wrong, but I believe RollingCode3 open carries quite often.

I think safewaysecurity does also. I do occasionally but don't make it an everyday thing.

I've been meaning to attend one of those open carry meets here in the bay area. I'll probably not carry, but I want to show support for those that do.

So this year, I plan to use 1 of my 6 range trips to attend a meeting.

I dont know why but this issue has really peaked my interest today. Ive been doing some reading from the open carry site which has really opened my eyes. I am kind of fuzzy on an issue though... When stopped and asked by a LEO to inspect your handgun do you also have to present ID at that time? The only thing Ive seen addressing this issue is a brief by the Dept of the Interior regarding Golden Gate Park. There they say the officer may ask but the citizen has the right not to provide. They use 40302 VC & 853.6(i) PC as referance to this. Ive also read that there are some trying to antagonize LEO's by open carrying. I mean really? ...Thats a sure way to get thrown to the ground or worse. Any input or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to IM me if you dont want to blast the board.

                            Thanks again...
