    Colt Combat Commander

If I was to order a Colt Combat Commander (the one that is on the approved DOJ list) how long generally does it take to get one in. I can't seem to find one anywhere in stock. Is the turn around time with Colt slow?

You should give the dealer you're buying from a call and ask them that??? or go on gunbroker to see if you get lucky and find one. I found my springfield on there and i called the dealer directly and bought from them. GL on your search.
    The stuff that goes boom.

I've asked at a couple local shops here on the Central Coast that exact question

And they say that they do not, and have not, seen any Colts anywhere

Gave me the impression that they do not want to deal with Colt, and don't know where to get one

Gallery of Guns shows only the alloy framed, blued Commander inventoried but it's out of stock.

Able's shows out of stock on pretty much all Colt made 1911 pattern guns.

Bud's shows out of stock as well on pretty much all Colt made 1911s.

Those are my three "go to" resources when I want something to order in. You might score quicker on the secondary market or with a clone if you want a new gun. New Colt handguns seem to be harder than hen's teeth to locate.

I think the question is Colt still selling pistols to the general public.
I have the Commander and it`s awsome

They are, and there's a lot of demand for them... although by reading here you'd think people only buy RIA's.

Call COLT on Monday and ask them if they are currently in production of the 04691 Colt you are after..

If so.. ask them what distribution co. are they shipping to.. It's prob on the east coast somewhere... they get priority over west coast as it costs more to ship as you go west... further from COLT...

Once you find out which dist. co. is getting them have your local FFL see if they can get one shipped out..

I had to do this exact thing a few years back when I was looking for the 04691 Colt Commander...

                      Good Luck

I remember talking to ozark guns and they said they have a few colts available. You should look them up online and email them to see what they have instock. This was about 3 weeks ago. Good luck on your search. I would like to own a Colt some day.
