i shoot hand loads exclusively so i don't know if factory loads produce the same outcome. whenever i clean my guns, there's brass shavings all along the internals. i'm just curious if it's just the wear and tear from picked up brass or if it's like that with all brass. anybody get the same thing?

Yep I get the same. It's pretty normal if you think about how violent the explosion is. I would imagine bits and pieces of the brass get shaved off or broken off. I get lots of aluminum flakes when I play with my snap caps.
