IMHO, the Glock factory finish is the best.

Duracoat rocks. I have used it on several guns. I'm not shure it's as tough as my gen 3. I can't damage the old glock23

Here's mine. I like the look, but the edges are starting to show a little wear...

I used brownells gunkote teflon on my golani and it came out fantastic. Sprayed on just like spray paint then backed it. easy, easy, easy.

Try it out. I love the two tone glocks.

I have Duracote in Ultra Flat Tactical Black on my Wingmaster riot gun. Just cleaned it Saturday, oiling it down and such. I am happy thus far. I used the two-part and would never think of using anything but a two part.

Midway offers a little propellant system for mixing and applying the two part. It looks like an exciting little one use set-up. I, truthfully would rahter have a detail gun, but in the absence of that and the air dryer required I think this little one use spray rig looks very promising.

                  Good luck.

If you care about your finish wearing out because of holster wear, or etc. I would suggest using cerekote or gunkote. The finish is as hard as it gets.

Pardon the silly question, but are you guys talking about coating the slide or just the frame? I thought there were tons of finishes that would coat plastic and be durable, starting as cheap as Krylon Fusion. I've never tried it on a gun, but I've painted an awful lot of plastic. As long as it's not the slide, I'd suspect finding suitable coatings would be a breeze, no?

I suspect it's just the slide. I wouldn't consider it any other way at this point.

Can you duracote the upper (slide) on a glock? It's got a lot of holster wear.

Do you Duracote yourself or do you know a place that does it?
