    CA "SAFE" ROSTER???????

"SW 1911 PD SKU 108286 / Alloy, Steel, Stainless Steel Pistol 5" .45 ACP 2/24/2012" is what is on CA DOJ . This pistol isn't on the S&W website and the only PD 5 inch they show is SKU# 108293 Tactical Rail Series........Does this happen with a lot of models from manufacturers? I am in the market for a railed 1911 and seen this one among others I am considering.

Yes, it happens a lot. Only the models the manufacturer submits get put on the Roster, and 'new' models since 2007 must have both a loaded chamber indicator and a magazine disconnect to get on; those are uncommon on 1911 type pistols.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I just ppt'ed the 108293, no roster issues. Some dealers may look the other way since the 108293 is an alloy/steel 5" pistol. The rail should be a moot point.
just happy to be here. I like talking about better ways to protect ourselves.

If you did a PPT, no need for the dealer to look the other way since PPTs are roster-exempt.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

doing a google search on the SKU listed on the roster has netted me a number of places selling the gun for under 800. I'm sure if you look around, you can get it without issue it seems.
