    Bond Arms,so I was thinking....

I'm not sure why these wouldn't be legal in this state, but then again what is legal here?so with this whole single shot exemption how does one acquire these,or can they?I know the 45/410 wouldn't be cool in the eyes of the DOJ,so can anyone share some insight?

No. In fact they made fun of californians at SHOT show. I wouldnt buy bond arms if the list vanished.

Same as Judge, nope, not a matter of the roster... not that I would ever want one of either.

My shooting buddy had a "Texas defender" Bond 3" in 45 ACP---what a LUMP---heavy, short grip, terrible trigger (like 35 lbs!) and often the second round would not fire (!)---not something I would recommend.

In order to qualify under the single shot pistol exemption, you would have to have a single 6" barrel with an overall length that is 10.5" or greater. [PC 12133(b)]

Due to CA's SBS laws, it can not be in the .45LC/.410 caliber.

              Penal Code 12133
              (b) The provisions of this chapter shall not apply to a single-shot pistol with a barrel length of not less than six inches and that has an overall length of at least 10 1/2 inches when the handle, frame or receiver, and barrel are assembled.

I have one in 45 ACP, extra barrels in 10mm and 327 Federal. The gun is very well made and recoil not bad at all. Muzzle blast is considerable though. It's a fairly heavy and blocky kind of gun, you have to press the trigger properly to avoid a heavy as hell pull - sort of down and to the rear glancing press.

I was thinking about getting a 45 Colt barrel, having it bored out to "just short" of 460 S & W length and working up some OO buck loads using the slightly shortened brass - I'm guessing bolo rounds would be frowned on?

That's too bad...what a bunch of dumbasses. I had to look them up to see what exactly they are making these days. Which reminds me....

Bond arms did poke fun at California's stupid laws with their version of the loaded chamber indicator not at Californians.

My brother is friends with a son-in-law of Bond family (his ex-girlfriends son) and we've asked about CA compliant derringers. Basically, the market is too small, the compliance testing cost are too high and the unfortunate laws we have to put up would require redesigns that make it cost prohibitive to do business in California. If you look at all of the pistols that are available outside of California, their position is not unique.
