    New or used handgun?

I have several rifles to which I own, but I am in the market for a handgun, to which I have never owned one, do you think it would be better to get a used handgun or a new handgun?

preferably want a 9mm (recoil isnt the issue as much as ammo costs)

was thinking about an XD-9 or a glock 17/19. open to opinions though.

If you're considering polymer guns like XD/Glock/M&P, buy new or used with low round count (5000rds or less).

Either of what you listed have stellar reputations.

Really just depends on the used guns quality. Look out for round count, mechanical history, wear and what other extras you might get with the deal.

Most used guns sold here have only been shot under 1000 rounds. Ask the seller as many question you feel you need to.

So far (knock on wood) I've been very pleased with the guns I've PPTed from folks from this site.

            M&P9 is my favorite.

Handle all the ones you are thinking about and if you can try to shoot them all to see what works the best for YOU.

Every used gun out there has a "low round count."

Personally, I prefer older S&W wheelguns & old guns in general.

The way some places charge for used guns, depending on your situation, save an extra month and getting a new gun. $50-100 between a new and used gun is not much at all.
                I vote M&P 9 and FNP-9.

Get used. You will save a few bucks, and the guns your looking at are highly resilient. The previous owner could have put them through hell and it really wouldnt matter, you cant go wrong.
