Same thing happened to me. Had to wait a month and half freakin hell I tell ya! Trust me when you finally take possession of it you won't be dissapointed! -
I went through the same hell when I ordered my HK Expert 2 months then an even more painful 10 day dros. Then 2 weeks after I picked it up, it went on sale for 40% off

I just DROS'ed a Kimber Ultra Carry II at 2:22 today and I can't wait to pick it up.
This is my very first 1911 pistol!
I hope I don't get dissapointed!

Perhaps that means you should get a Springfield instead.

Par for the course with Kimber. If they don't have it in stock, prepare to wait 2-6 months. But, as we all know, good things come to those who wait

Back when I did my commemorative buy they were very busy, this was late 2008/early 2009. It seems the demand has not let up. My Kimber rep was telling me back then how they were knocking down walls, opening new buildings and moving stuff around to accomodate increased production levels.
It's worth it, I love both of mine.
EDIT:
LOL. I see that this was my 1000th post, if I remember correctly, my first post was about the Commemorative buy and those turned out to be Kimbers of course.
