    Mailing handguns through the mail...legal?

My FFL says it is illegal under Cali law for him to send a handgun through the USPS to another FFL (out of state).

    Is this accurate?

I thought FFLs can send them via USPS?

If you have a regulation/etc that would be helpful.

Is this accurate? Complete inaccurate. Why are you working with him??

I thought FFLs can send them via USPS? Correct, he's got a usps form to fill out.

Have him us UPS or FedEx.

From what I recall USPS does not do it anymore. UPS and FedEx do it, but you have to do it next day air IIRC.

I've only done it once and dont recall the exact reasons.

What hanko said is correct. USPS will do it, they just require the proper form. I sold a pistol a few months ago and my FFL used USPS to ship my handgun.

          Tony,

Your FFL just needs to fill-out one of these

and present it at the post office with the package. He probably should bring along a copy of his license also.
