    ProMag

I have had lots of problems using ProMag in my Sig P220 .45 ACP.

In the past I have always used Federal ammo.

What is weird, I shot 250 rounds of Remington FMJ and had zero feeding issues. And the slide locked back every time the mag was empty.

Anyone else experience this phenomenon? Was this just a fluke? Did the gun gods smile on me to enjoy a whole day of shooting without issues? Or was the difference really in the ammo?

In fact, I was actually shooting better. Much tighter groupings.

Since I know I have problems with the mags I just take them to the range. I don't count on them for HD.

Maybe I am putting too much thought into this and should just be happy with a nice day out shooting.

Plenty of reliable aftermarket magazines available out there from reputable manufacturers.

Promag just flat out sucks. Even the pro-mag magazine couplers jam my AR Mags!

Every once in a while you'll get a good bug-free promag magazine.

When I first got into guns, I was told to avoid 2 things: 1) always treat the gun as if it was loaded, and 2)avoid ProMag like the plague.

I am happy to say that I have heeded both.

I just got one recently for my Beretta 90-Two, and it doesn't even fit flush to the bottom. I had no feeding issues at the range, but having a little gap is annoying as hell. They have a lifetime warranty according to their paper materials, so I plan on eventually trying to get a more fitting replacement when I get time to deal with the politics of a warranty replacement.

Why not just spend a little more money and get Sig factory mags that will function flawless in your gun?

I know ProMag is frowned upon.

What I was getting at is how I have always had issues with them. I know they are a problem but take them to the range anyways.

What was weird, was they worked flawlessly through 250 rounds. I have never not had a problem with them. The only difference was the ammunition.

That was my intentions of the thread. Anyone else experience problems but then have an error free day?

                    THE NEW GUY

I went to the range today and fired my 220 for the first time. Sadly I had 2 FTF. My guess is that it was from the reloads from USA AMMO.

(50 rounds from usa ammo, 150 rounds from winchester)

Winchester not 1 problem. I did shoot all 8 mags for testing.

Out of a total of 8 mags, 3 are factory, and 5 are pro mags.
