Smith & Wesson M&P40 Caliber Conversion

So let me get this straight, all I need to shoot .357 and 9mm is the barrels and 9mm magazines?

Yes, all you need is the conversion barrel and magazine.

You need to get a 40 to 9mm conversion barrel. The 9mm has a different outside chamber size. You can do it, but its not recommended. Do more research.

I cant find it right now, but i would start looking at http://mp-pistol.com/boards/

If they just swapped out, storm lake wouldnt be making a "40-9mm conversion barrel. Also, you cant make your 9mm a .40 because, the slide is smaller around the barrel/chamber ejection port.

Think I found it. All the info you need should be in this thread. http://mp-pistol.com/boards/index.ph...&hl=conversion

We have all done it, but please dont say, "Yes" unless you are absolutely sure about something. With guns, someone can get really hurt if they dont know what they are doing.

              Thanks,

Everything I've found on that forum, through google search, said its fine to do the conversion, just not to use oem bbls or from 9mm to .40 which I believe is what the op asked.

OK sorry, thanks for the clarification. I thought you meant you cant do it with the conversion bbls.
