    NO worries

The serial number will be on the DROS paperwork that has your name on it.

Get a copy of that before you leave the store. And have the clerk write the number on the receipt as well.

    Have fun!

Did they give you copy of the DROS?

If you received a DROS copy... the serial number is there.

I think they print a final invoice when you pick it up and it will have the s/n on it. I checked my Turners invoice for my XD and its on the invoice.

            Well... that's lame.

            What is on the DROS...?

Is is not all personal information of the buyer...?

Is it not the make, model and serial number of the hand gun registering to your name...?

There is NO personal information of the Dealer... am I correct...?

Gee... yes, yes, yes, and yes

Buyer needs a copy of the DROS; it is after all, their name and their property.

            There should be NO argument.

              Chino Hills does.
Both initial DROS at purchase, and a 2nd copy at pickup.

By law if you ask for it, they have to give you a copy.

Just for jolly's I make my own copys and keep them in the Gun case, Glock tupperwear etc..and if I travel with my GLOCK 29, a copy is with the weapon.

I know it's not required, but If I ever get stopped for an E check, the ownership papers go a long way to move things along.

The serial number probably isn't on that invoice because when you bought the pistol they were probably out of stock.

Did they actually have one in stock when you bought it?

                    what he said...
That is my understanding. If they have the pistol in stock, they can show it to you (to be sure it is to your satisfaction, no scratches, not a counter demo, etc.) and enter the serial number on the invoice and you secure your pistol.
Then when you pick up the gun, and the serial numbers match, you know they haven't slipped in a substitute--demo, scratches or other imperfections.

Handgun is different from long gun.

Handgun, they can't inititate DROS without the serial number.
No DROS initiation = no pickup until 10 days after it is.

With a long gun, they can theoretically initiate DROS without having one in stock if they know damned well that they'll have one within 30 days.

Sounds like typical Turner's BS to me. I stopped giving them my business after a few transactions that went south at more than one store a few years back. The general makeup of the gun salesmen are either kids who don't know jack about nothing, or old timers who don't want to give you the time of day. I've had good experiences with good salesmen from Turner's, but really it's the negative experiences you remember. The straw that broke the camels back for me was getting the run around after purchasing a gun and not being able to pick it up until almost a month due to their laziness and lies. My advice before you buy a firearm at Turner's, you make sure you see the gun you are getting, not just the display gun. If they have the gun in stock but at a different location, they will try hard to convince you to let them ship it from one store to another which usually results in an extended wait because the truck has a set schedule for each day of the week what stores they go to. My gun waited six days at the original store, then six more days at the warehouse. Then I had to start the 10 day waiting period when it arrived at the store that took my money but I couldn't pick up until the 11th day lol. I really like Ammo Bros in Cerritos. They are nothing but professional. I've also had smooth transactions with budsgunshop.com.

Having worked at Turners Pasadena in the 90's... If there is no serial number issued on your invoice that usually means that the Chino warehouse is out of stock but you have been guaranteed to purchase the said pistol at the said price and have reserved the firearms once it arrives.

When the firearm arrives, you will be notified by the store and will be issued a serial number at that time and will be informed to return to the store to DROS the firearm. Hope that info helps.

Looks like it is out of stock. I bought a gun out of stock before from turners and they don't have the serial number on the invoice. They can not do the DROS without the serial number. So after the gun arrived, they called me and I went in to do the DROS, after the DROS process, the invoice showed serial number. They always provide me with the DROS copy printed off the DROS website. I remember once they forgot to give me the DROS copy, probably clerk error. I just ask for them during pickup.
