I have Trijicons on all of my Sigs (226 and 228) and Glocks (17 and 19) and love them. Wouldnt have it any other way.

Just ordered a pair of "nitesiters". You can google them. I have no personal experience with them, but they seem to be the cheaper "alternative" to tritium night sights. Hopefully they work ok.

And needed if you're out at night and need the weapon. At home or otherwise.

For the range, the Sucky Glock plastics will work.

I have Meprolight sites on my GLOCK 35..they work good...

I have TruGlo Tritium & Fiber Optic Night Sights on my G29.
In the old days, the fiber optic part used to come loose..however they
got that fixed...I've run 1000 rounds of max load 10MM thru my G29 and they are still tight and perfect.

They are bright during the day and the Tritium takes over at night.

Around 80 to 100 bucks. More or less. Easy to install. For my eyes they work great. (old guy with glasses)

You can see how the Fiber Optic part glows just from an overhead light in my house.

May the Bridges I burn light the way.

Fewer people are killed with all rifles each year (323 in 2011) than with shotguns (356), hammers and clubs (496), and hands and feet (728).

Depends on the pistol use.Hd yes ,Target no,plinking no ,competion no. I have several pistols and rifles, only three with night sights. They last about ten years then need to be replaced, which about the same price a getting a new pair.

For a HD gun, it helps greatly but its just as nice to have a light on it for that. I love my trijicons, go for there standard line or if you like the look and design of there newer "HD" series, buy those.

Nothing wrong with standard glock sights, I wont change them out since I love the pattern on them, great combat sights, just not made night sight wise.

I have night sights on most my guns, mostly Meprolights and some Trijicons. All my Glocks have night sights on them and I think it's a big advantage. Day time shooting it probably doesn't matter much but I like to be able to see where the gun is pointed either way. I think it's definitely worth it to get night sights.

It's not to hard, usually just need a pusher and some other things, and now they have some sweat devices to make it easier to just pop them on.

My preference is a single front dot nightsight paired with a plain black rear blade for fast and accurate shooting in dim light.

If you just must have a rear a nightsight lamp. I would recommend the Heine Straight-Eight

I went the night sights on my P229. It's the first pistol I've owned with nights sites and I like the fact that when I'm sleeping they are staring at me.

IMHO night sights are a waste of money! If you need you weapon at night you should have a flashlight with you to identify your target.
