looking for something thats hard to find...

well, im gonna be out of commission for a longish time (couple months, at least), and i figure its good time to get some work in on my 1911.
what i would like to do first to it, is bobtail it. are there any smiths who can do a round bobtail like that new smith from shot2011 or kimber's super pro carry?
and if the smith could do that to the frame, where would i acquire the right msh?
ive been googling for a few hours now, and if i havent found one yet, well, you guys know how that goes. i need help, fellas!

and also, are there any local (bay area) refinishers who are GOOD?

My guess is he's looking for this:

I would probably start by talking to a smith and ask him what the process actually is to determine the steps you would take. If I had to guess, I'd say you probably want to start by buying the MSH you want (IE a Kimber MSH) and have him copy the angle/match the frame to fit. It'd be pricey, but could definitely add a nice classy look to your gun. I just wonder how many local smiths would actually take that task on.
