If you want Fiber Optic, the Dawson front is the industry standard.
If you want a bead, I'd recommend a brass, or gold, bead from 10-8 Performance...because the journey is the worthier part...The Shepherd's TaleComment

The F/O is brighter, but the bead is more rugged.
For competition, if you want every advantage, go with the F/O. For carry, go with the bead.
I've seen a lot of F/O tubes break on guns...just in training classes...with the worst being TruGlo...because the journey is the worthier part...The Shepherd's TaleComment

i have dawson precision FO on all of my 1911's including a Charles Daly 1911 (made by armscor, like RIA). i would not recommend them for carry since the dawson FO has very sharp edges. for IDPA or IPSC use, they are one of the best front sights i ever used. i bought the one matching the springfield slide and i had to do some major filing to get it fit. (might be the wrong size)

They made me a .90 x .160 (I wanted a .100 x .160) Fiber Optic Front Site for my RIA Tactical after the Holiday Break. I had to send the slide in because the one for the Novak Slide Cut did required too much fitting and had too much space at the bottom of the side. It has turned my budget blaster into one of my best long range guns. They should still have the dimensions.Originally posted by BumslieHK - the best 600 dollar gun, 900 dollars can buy.Originally posted by SleighterGetting legal advice from a gun salesman, is like getting medical advice from a janitor at a hospital. the mil spec ria 1911 is not a wide tenon...If it's a mil spec 1911, then go with Dawson Precision
