The only time I have seen Kimber charge to do any repair work was when a guy neglected his pistol. It had NO oil in it or on it and the stainless finish was rusting. Kimbers stainless is very tough because it has a high carbon content.. consequently it requires some oil to protect it.
For the 200 or so bucks charged the guy got his damaged front strap checkering fixed his mainspring housing replaced and the entire gun re-bead blasted. Came back like new.
LOL, and I still dont own one of my own.
