    reloaded ammo

I just went to a gunshow in Glendale, Ca and saw that many range were selling reloaded ammo for really good price.

For 40s&w case of 500rd with tin can for 79.99 I didn't buy it but I kind of regret not buying.

What are the pros and cons of buying reloaded?

The cons are that you don't know the load or thequality until you shoot it. But, commercial reloads can be better than "new" ammo or worse dependin g on the quality of both. In all reality, if you are talking about "new" ammo vs. "reloads" done by the same company, the only difference is that reloads aree loaded in previously fired cases.

The pros are that reloads are cheaper because, the brass is cheaper for the manufacturer.

Of course, I've seen plenty of guns blown up from both reloads and factory ammo. The only way to know if any ammo is up to your level of quality is to load them yourself. It was just a couple of years ago when a major manufacturer, Remington, released a large quantity of factory .223 without flash holes. This caused more than a few calgunner's rifles to blow up.

The pro is that it's cheap.

The con is that you're shooting someone else's reloads that you can not verify the quality of.

All above are true, I've bought the Miwall re loads in .40 before and they worked just like WWB, so I bought 1K of .40 and 500 223. Next show buy some!

I've used Ammo Bros and LAX range reloads, both have been fine.

When they have it on sale I buy - save a bundle... it's too easy to shoot $200 of factory ammo in one outing...

BTW, $80 for 500 rnds is a grat price - whos reloads was it?

I have shot reloads for rifles and handguns...The biggest issue is drop in consistency. Reloads seem more inconsistent when you are concerned with grouping. However, I use it because it is cheap and shooting for practice with expensive ammo is as it is stated - Expensive.

damn, I guess I need to go to the gun show next time... that's cheaper than their sale price (maybe not after entry fee though)... thanks for the heads up.
